THREE GENERATIONS
OF BIG BEARS.
IT STARTED WITH THE ORIGINAL BIG BEAR.
Dave's dad began ordering vitamins through the mail when he was just 12 years old. His friends even gave him a nickname: "Vitamin Flintheart."
His fascination with health never stopped. His home filled with health and nutrition journals from places like Harvard, Mass General, Cleveland Clinic and Tufts. He exercised, made smoothies, took long walks and passed that curiosity on to his family.
Dave grew up drinking his dad's smoothies and reading his journals. Starting when Dave was 12, father and son went to the Nautilus together. They practiced Kung Fu, walked for miles, and shared an enthusiasm for health, fitness and living life fully.
Then came a third generation
ENTER TRISTAN.
Dave's son and Big Bear co-founder, Tristan, grew up immersed in many of those same habits. An entrepreneur from a young age, he started his first business while still in high school. He went on to become a collegiate fencer and student-athlete, as well as a professional photographer.
Today, the original Big Bear is 95. He still works out nearly every day, drives, walks strong — and remains our #1 advisor.
Something new
BIG BEAR MATCHA SUPERFOOD SMOOTHIES.
Dave and Tristan are now taking three generations of family tradition and creating something new from it: Big Bear Matcha Superfood Smoothies.
And they're bringing other parts of their lives along for the adventure: Dave's nine years living in Japan and love of matcha, Tristan's entrepreneurial and creative spirit, Dave's pursuit of the Seven Summits, and a family belief that health is about much more than what goes into a bottle.
Because Big Bear's most important ingredients aren't listed on the nutrition panel.
